CyberNorth spearheads the growth of a thriving cyber security community in the North East of England and is a key contributor to the UK’s overall cyber strategy through our partnership with UKC3.
We do this by promoting all things cyber, especially in the North East to ensure we’re getting noticed internationally and nationally, and by focusing on strengthening the development of three main areas in the region.
We call these our Pillars and they are:
- Skills – for today and tomorrow
- Innovation – future proofing the sector for prosperity
- Ecosystem – support and collaboration for growth
Our goal with these Pillars is to create opportunities to bring the sector together, encourage progressive collaboration and to help establish the region as a centre of excellence for the cyber security industry.
CyberNorth is open to any organisation or individual working in the cyber security sector across the region in any industry. This could means you could be any of the following:
- Cyber security business
- Service Influencer
- User of cyber security services
- Academia
- Public Sector
- Individual innovator or thought leader
- Educational institution

Welcome to the CyberNorth community – we are the cyber security cluster for North East England. Our cluster is open to any organisation or individual working in the cyber security sector across the region.
The CyberNorth community is made up of the cyber security businesses and influencers, users of cyber security services, academia, public sector and individual innovators and thought leaders. The community provides a hub of peer led expertise, innovation potential, shared learning, sector leadership and the cluster framework facilitates a means to collaborate and connect as cyber security businesses, enabling our region to operate on a national platform more competitively and with a united profile.
The CyberNorth cluster meets regularly online and in person, runs a programme of networking and thought-leadership events including an annual festival each September – #CyberFest.

We hope this peer led community provides the foundations for sharing learning and seeking expertise, identifying opportunities, coming together to collaborate and a framework to grow together stronger showcasing the strength of the regional cyber security sector on a national (and international) stage.
